Do you have extra seedlings leftover? Did you buy a whole package of peas but only planted a few? Are you splitting up your hostas? Thinning your echinacea? Pots you won’t use?
On May 22-23, 2021, put your extras to the curb! Share what you’ve got and help get our neighbourhood growing!
We also have free tomato seedlings to give away to the first 100 Riverside Park residents who sign-up to participate, courtesy of Amano Gardens.
If you live between Brookfield Road and the McCarthy Woods, and between the Rideau River and the Airport Parkway, then that includes you.
Confirm your participation and we’ll deliver your seedling over the May long weekend.
This year, please consider how to reuse your pots and soil bags. Send us a message at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have several pots and emptied soil/compost bags that have been opened at one end (not the side). We’ll organize a pick-up so they can be repurposed at local the Green Thumb Garden Centre and Dunrobin Nurseries. Let’s keep that plastic out of the landfill and give pots another life before they’re recycled!

This is a no-contact, physically distant, and community friendly initiative. Please respect public health guidelines to keep our neighbourhood healthy and safe.
Plant a seed, grow a community!
