June 20 to July 18 Festival Street Parking Restrictions Mapping
Councilors Typical Announcement
TIPPING POINT
Yes, last year was a tipping point when the 2 largest festivals were concurrent and one (the noisiest) extended their permit. It was short of an occupation.
The Councillor and RPCA are looking at limiting the number of (large, especially) events and managing them away from the residential areas.
To do this we have to take a rather broken process of permitting, bylaw enforcement, parking, traffic control and life safety (fire truck access), sanitary (we hose the street down to remove human feces) and especially low-level noise enforcement departments at the city to be ‘one’ and combined with resident advocacy.
