April 30th, 2019 Comments off

On Monday, April 29, the Ottawa South Community Voice ceased publication, citing advertising woes. It was a fantastic local paper, with quality journalism by editor Patrick Uguccioni and reporter Erin McCracken. The paper’s closing will leave a big hole in our community, but we are heartened to learn that no staff will be laid off.

Spring Cleaning in Riverside Park!

April 12th, 2019 Comments off

Join us in #CleaningTheCapital!

Join your neighbours, friends and fellow Riverside Park residents to clean up our parks and greenspaces as part of the city’s annual GLAD Cleaning the Capital campaign. Register on RPCRA’s Facebook page to participate and stay up-to-date on the campaign.

From April 15, 2019 – May 15, 2019, we are asking residents to clean up litter, report graffiti and audit the state of our community’s parks and green spaces. Your contribution can take place while you walk your kids to school or walk the dog at night. We will also be hosting larger clean-up events on Capital Cleanup Weekend when we will host our big clean up in each of the five neighbourhoods that make up Riverside Park.

Clean-ups will take place at 0ne of five community parks at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 27, 2019 (rain date is May 4):

  • Pauline Vanier Park (Harkness Ave)
  • Paget Park (Hobson Rd)
  • Linton Park (Linton Rd)
  • Arnott Park (Hartman Cres)
  • Geoff Wightman Park (Kamloops Ave)

This is an excellent opportunity to get out, socialize, improve the state of our wonderful community and possibly win some prizes! Part of a church, social or sports group? Share the event and have them sign them up too at:

A park checklist will be provided by email with questions about park amenities, waste management and the overall condition, and clean up materials will be available on Capital Clean-up Weekend or by request.

If you have any questions, just email
