Santa is Zooming to Riverside Park!

We are all planning to enjoy our holidays safely.

Since most of you won’t be able to travel to your usual holiday destinations in the same way this year, the Riverside Park Community Association has been working hard to bring the holidays to you.

We have arranged for a special virtual visit from Santa … and we will be hosting nightly online entertainment at 7:00 p.m. on our Facebook page. “LIKE” our Facebook page to be notified when events go live: https://www.facebook.com/RiversideParkCA

Check out Santa’s “Nice List” for Riverside Park

Santa has released his official “Nice List” for Riverside Park. And he will be reading out his list on our Facebook Page on Wed., Dec. 23 at 7:00 pm. “LIKE” our Facebook page to be notified when Santa is live: https://www.facebook.com/RiversideParkCA

Parents, guardians, and grandparents living in the Riverside Park neighbourhood of Ottawa were encouraged to send the names of the children in their lives by email to Santa@riversidepark.ca before 8:00 pm on Friday, December 18, 2020. This was also advertised on Facebook and through email to all of our subscribers.

Santa’s video address was pre-recorded on December 19 so, unfortunately, late submissions cannot be included!

Join Riverside Park’s Virtual Holiday Carol

The RPCA is looking for your help in creating a fun and upbeat Virtual Holiday Carol to be shared with the community and with local long-term care residents. This video will send much-needed joy to some of our most-vulnerable residents who might be feeling particularly isolated this year.

We would like you and your families to send us video of you singing “Feliz Navidad”.
The following YouTube link plays the song with lyrics: https://youtu.be/xcrWIErP4HI

* Please sing using only this version so that we can align the video properly. Don’t be shy! All voices are much appreciated and will be mixed together so no one will know who is singing.

Ideas for submissions:
  • Do you like to sing? Send us a video of you / your family / your pets singing to the song using the link! * Please video singing to this version only.

  • Do you like to act? Send us a creative video of you singing to the song, using props or staging near a local landmark.
  • Do you like to take pictures? Send us still images to include in the video (pictures of family members you would like to honor, decorations you have made, pets in holiday costume, anything festive!)
Please send your submissions ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 18th to Donna at dondalegrant@yahoo.com (By submitting you are consenting for the content to be shared and posted on social media)

Thanks for your help in creating this virtual message of love and hope!

Driveway Caroling

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!

Join your neighbours in song, 2020 style. Step out of your house on December 24 at 7:00 pm, and sing from your doorway, porch, driveway, balcony or where you’re safely comfortable.

Just like we used to bang pots in appreciation for our front line workers, let’s join our voices in song to bring on the hope and cheer of the season.

COMING SOON! Download the Song List (sing in order so we can sing together, apart)
