Hog’s Back Construction Update (May 2020)

Since the recent announcement that the Hog’s Back Swing Bridge construction delay, the RPCA has been working with Councillor Brockington to lobby for an expedited construction schedule.

NCC CEO Tobi Nussbaum responded to our letter on March 17 and Environment and Climate Change Minister John Wilkinson responded on April 30.

Councillor Brockington is now reporting that work on the fixed bridge is set to get going immediately, rather than the projected mid-May started date.

Hog’s Back Road is expected to be fully closed in both directions until August 28, 2020. During that time, there will be no vehicular traffic to Colonel By and not through-traffic between Riverside and Prince of Wales. However, access will be open to the Hog’s Back Park from Riverside Drive, and pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be fully maintained throughout.
